Barry L. Hall – Firm Investigator

Barry Lynn Hall was born to Frankie Joyce Hall and Caleb Anderson Hall on June 28, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina. Barry later lived in Guntersville, Alabama and Huntsville, Mississippi. Upon graduating from high school, Barry joined the United States Navy and became an aircraft mechanic. Barry was stationed aboard an aircraft carrier for most of his tour of duty. While stationed in Albany, Georgia for a brief period of time, Barry met Karen Ann Webb. Barry and Karen became engaged within three weeks of meeting, and married one year later, when Barry returned home from sea on January 27, 1973. When Barry moved to Valdosta, Georgia, Barry and Karen had their two daughters, Yolanda who was born in 1974 and Toyan who was born in 1976.

Throughout his life, Barry was a Pastor at several churches, including Ousley Baptist Church, DuPont Baptist Church and Benevolence Baptist Church. He was also the children’s church Pastor at Gateway Baptist Church for many years. Barry was also a member and elder at Bethany Baptist Church, and an Associate Pastor. At Bethany Baptist Church, Barry played the guitar for the praise team, designed and built the props for the annual Tribulation Drama, and built many props for Vacation Bible School. As part of his ministry, Barry also made wooden “Jesus Crosses” that he gave to people. In addition, Barry also served as a Board Member for the Lowndes Associated Ministries to People (LAMP), which is a group of individuals that provide basic needs for homeless and hurting members of the community.

In 1979, Barry began working for the Valdosta Police Department. Barry served as a motorcycle unit officer for a short period during his early years of policing. The motorcycle unit was disbanded, and all of the officers returned to regular patrol. Barry was later promoted to the detective division, and remained there for a number of years. Upon being promoted to Sergeant, Barry returned to the road patrol, and he became a field training officer. During his tenure with the Valdosta Police Department, Barry logged 2,084 hours of police training in areas including patrol, traffic, crime scene, photography, investigations, supervisory, and management. Over the years, Barry has trained many officers, and those officers still speak very highly of him. He also served as the Chaplain of the Valdosta Police Department. Barry worked for the Valdosta Police Department for 27+years, and retired in January of 2007.

Once he retired, Barry enjoyed the rest of his career with his close friend, Nick M. Bajalia, Sr., and his team at the Bajalia Law Firm, P.C. During his work with our law firm, Barry was responsible for comprehensive civil and criminal case investigations, including vehicular accident scene investigations, criminal investigations, locating potential witnesses, discovery of assets, and the preparation of courtroom exhibits.

On June 12, 2011, at the age of 61, and after a courageous 3 ½ year battle with cancer, Barry passed away. Barry will be long remembered for his passionate service to the Lord, his family, friends, church, and community. He is deeply missed by all members of our law firm, and his legacy will live forever in the community and in our hearts.
