Jill S. Lane was born in Pennsylvania, but raised in Orlando, Florida. Jill attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. While attending college, Jill worked at the Orange County Clerk of Court’s office in Orlando, Florida as a Deputy Clerk in the Civil Division. In 2010, Jill obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies.
In Fall 2010, Jill moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to attend law school at The Thomas M. Cooley Law School, now known as Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School. During law school, Jill became an active member of the Delta Theta Phi law fraternity. She also participated in the Cooley Immigrant Rights and Civil Advocacy Clinic, wherein she assisted indigent immigrants with obtaining legal representation for various legal issues. In addition to the Immigration Clinic, Jill participated in the Washtenaw County Guardianship Program, wherein she met with, and interviewed, wards of the state to assist the Court in determining whether or not to terminate or extend guardianship orders. Jill attended school during the summers and was able to graduate from law school a semester early. Jill graduated from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in January 2013. Jill became a member of the Georgia Bar and the American Bar Association in 2014.
Jill is married and has one child and three dogs. In her free time, Jill enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
